As a growing organization serving the needs of students in the Chicago Metropolitan Area, Femi Memorial Outreach relies on the generosity of volunteers to fulfill our mission of empowering students to achieve success.

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available for individuals, families, groups and businesses of all backgrounds and ages. We work with our volunteers to match your interests, skills and talents with our needs.

Some details about volunteering with Femi Memorial Outreach are:

  • Volunteer from 1-6 hours/week
  • Make an initial commitment to volunteer for 3 months (1 year for mentor)
  • Complete application form. A confidentiality agreement and background check will later be required by state law.
  • Attend an initial interview and orientation to the organization.
  • Submit monthly volunteer logs to the program manager

Some ways to contribute your time, talents and interests include:

  • Administrative Aide: Assist with fundraising efforts
  • Classroom Aide: Assist with After-School activities in the classroom
  • Mentoring: Engage individual students one-on-one in social activities such board games, hobbies, community events or mentor a student’s family and connect them with resources
  • Assistant Group Leader: Assist staff in facilitating and monitoring tutors and students
  • Special Projects: Use unique skills to take photos of our activities, design a newsletter, work on a summer program, sponsor an activity for students on winter break from school
