Femi Memorial Outreach

Empowering Students. Turning Lives Around.

Do you have what it takes to be a tutor and a mentor? Do you love working with children? Do you enjoy inspiring students to learn? Do you have leadership skills? Are you reliable? Are you flexible? Are you eligible for federal work study fund? If so, then Femi Memorial Outreach wants to talk to you.

TutorTutors work with students in our after-school program to develop and reinforce math, science, and reading comprehension skills. Homework assistance is provided as well as both individualized and group review. We offer a variety of tutoring experiences and serve at-risk, but academically oriented, students from Rogers Park, Edgewater, Uptown, the Southside of Chicago, and the Westside of Chicago. The goal of Femi Memorial Outreach is to provide struggling students with a safe, nurturing, learning environment after the school day ends. While providing mentorship, Tutors help to develop critical thinking and leadership skills in students.

Fall through Spring (with the exception of holiday vacations), we offer after-school tutoring Monday through Friday from approximately 3:30 pm to 5:45 pm.

We are looking for tutors who are students of our partner universities: Loyola University Chicago, University of Chicago, or Dominican University.

If interested in this opportunity, please send us an email with a cover letter and resume.

Congratulations to our tutors, who recieved the 2011-2012 Ignatian Spirit Team Award from Loyola University Chicago. You really have embodied what it means to be a Femi Memorial Outreach tutor, keep it up!
